We understand that you have to first deal with the „everyday problems“ of your specific local situation. At the same time, there are big global developments and challenges which pose uncertainties but also opportunities for dealing with exactly those daily issues. Perhaps you soon need to replace 200 old ticket vending machines or change the outdated variable message signs: all very concrete and pressing (operational) decisions. But maybe your mid-, and long-term (strategic) decisions would be different had you been informed about emerging technologies, future requirements, costs, etc.

Perhaps your vending machines can have cameras built in, detect explosives, listen to violence, provide SOS services; can the new LED screens´ energy consumption be satisfied with a simple vandalism proof solar panel, and how can it be installed without the need for a heavy concrete foundation?

There are problems that you simply cannot solve by yourself. These need to be addressed – with your help – on a regional, national or European level, or even on an global level. Taking into account that technology itself is almost never the problem – but rather the underlying organization – the global topics require a lot of networking.
