The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) started its call for contributions for the congress of their Global Public Transport Summit. It takes place in Stockholm, Sweden, from 9 to 12 June 2019. UITP cooperates with the Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH not only within the framework of IT-TRANS, International Exhibition and Conference on Intelligent Urban Transport Systems, but also with regards to their world congress. “As the project team of IT-TRANS, we are the contacts for interested companies from nine countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia. Stands are still available for participants”, says project manager Jochen Georg. “Furthermore, we are very pleased that our partners from the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion (TRK) will present the city’s expertise in digitalisation and public transport with a joint stand in Stockholm.”

The Global Public Transport Summit is the world’s biggest event dedicated to sustainable mobility. Covering all urban and regional transport modes across the globe, the summit combines a diverse programme of leading congress sessions and an outstanding exhibition full of the latest innovations, solutions and products.

The programme of the summit is steered by a Programme Committee on behalf of the UITP Policy Board. Potential speakers can choose to participate in the programme of the congress or they can present a poster in a Poster Session. Moreover, exhibitors have the opportunity to speak at the Expo Sessions. The call for posters is open to academia and any stakeholders involved in research. The call for abstracts for the Expo Sessions is reserved to exhibitors of the Global Public Transport Summit. Both are expected to cover one or more of the seven main topics of the programme which are:

  • Customer service excellence
  • Improving quality of life in cities
  • Mobility as a Service and the new combined mobility paradigm
  • Attracting new talents and skills
  • Operational excellence
  • Funding & financing
  • Harvesting innovation

Applicants are requested to submit their applications online via the dedicated website (www.uitpsummit.org). The call for congress sessions closes 24 October, the call for Poster Sessions ends 5 December and applicants for the Expo Sessions need to hand in their abstracts by 14 December. UITP will communicate the results in December.

Companies (from the countries mentioned above) that are interested in participating as an exhibitor in Stockholm are kindly requested to contact Markus Kocea from Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH (markus.kocea@messe-karlsruhe.de).
